The first GMT Master was introduced to market in the 1950s. A true pilot’s watch at heart, the GMT Master II is equipped with a dedicated hand on the dial as well as a 24-hour bi-directional bezel that allow the wearer to read local and home time simultaneously. The GMT Master is also accompanied by a legible luminous display on the dial, a tough stainless steel finish, and a depth rating of up to 100 meters, making it a versatile companion for daily wear and formal occasions alike. The ref. 16700 that you see here today introduced the GMT Master range to the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a newer case, and white gold surrounds on the dial. It was the last reference in the line before being discontinued and replaced with the current GMT Master II and is a widely sought-after collector’s item.
